Additional Product Information

UMPS (uridine monophosphate synthase) is a uridine 5'-monophosphate synthase. UMPS is a bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the final two steps of the de novo pyrimidine biosynthetic pathway. The first reaction is carried out by the N-terminal enzyme orotate phosphoribosyltransferase which converts orotic acid to orotidine-5'-monophosphate. The terminal reaction is carried out by the C-terminal enzyme OMP decarboxylase which converts orotidine-5'-monophosphate to uridine monophosphate [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 7372)].

Alternate Names

OMPdecase; OPRT; OPRTase; orotate phosphoribosyltransferase; Orotate phosphoribosyltransferase (OPRT); orotidine 5'-phosphate decarboxylase; Orotidine 5'-phosphate decarboxylase (ODC); UMP synthase; uridine 5'-monophosphate synthase

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
