Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PHF6 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00292 maps to a region between residue 125 and 175 of human PHD finger protein 6 using the numbering given in entry NP_115834.1 (GeneID 84295).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

PHF6 a member of the PHD (plant homeodomain)-like zinc-finger family of proteins and is suggested to function as an important transcription factor. PHF6 is ubiquitously expressed and localizes to the cell nucleus with prominent expression in the nucleolus. Expression in the nucleolus indicates an importance to ribosome biogenesis. Mutations in PHF6 are the cause of Borgeson-Forssman-Lehman syndrome (BFLS), an X-linked syndrome characterized by mental retardation, hypogonadism, hypometabolism, obesity, gynecomastia, and several forms of facial anomalies.
