Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to FKBP4/FKBP52 immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00290 maps to a region between residue 1 and 50 of human FK506 binding protein 4 using the numbering given in entry NP_002005.1 (GeneID 2288).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

FKBP4/FKBP52 is an immunophilin and target of FK506, a macrolide immunosuppressive drug derived from Streptomyces tsukubaensis. Like other FK506 binding proteins, FKBP52 exhibits peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity, but does not appear to mediate the immunosuppressive activities of FK506. The most studied role of FKBP4/FKBP52 surrounds its involvement in the regulation of steroid receptor signaling. In association with the molecular chaperone Hsp90, FKBP4/FKBP52 is able to influence steroid-hormone binding affinity and transcriptional activity.
