Production Procedures

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to EB1 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00674 maps to a region between residue 245 and 268 of human End-binding protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_036457.1 (GeneID 22919).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

End –binding protein 1 (EB1) is a member of the RP/EB family and was first identified by its binding to the APC protein which is often mutated in familial and sporadic forms of colorectal cancer. This protein localizes to microtubules, especially the growing ends, in interphase cells. During mitosis, the protein is associated with the centrosomes and spindle microtubules. EB1 also associates with components of the dynactin complex and the intermediate chain of cytoplasmic dynein. Because of these associations, it is thought that EB1 is involved in the regulation of microtubule structures and chromosome stability. [taken from NCBI GeneID:22919].

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
