Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to USP5/IsoT immobilized on solid support.
The epitope recognized by IHC-00313 maps to a region between residue 375 and 425 of human ubiquitin specific peptidase 5 (isopeptidase T) using the numbering given in entry CAA62690.1 (GeneID 8078).
Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Ubiquitin (Ub) is a highly conserved protein found ubiquitously in eukaryotic organisms. The conjugation of ubiquitin to proteins is an important means to regulate protein activity for many cellular processes by tagging them for degradation. Removal of Ub can rescue proteins from degradation. This is accomplished by the ubiquitin-specific processing protease (UBP) family of enzymes. Ubiquitin specific processing protease 5 (USP5) is a member of this family. The upregulation of USP5 has been found to be associated with fetal Down syndrome.
