Production Procedures

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PTPN12 immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00260 maps to a region between residue 760 and 780 of human protein tyrosine phosphatase, non-receptor type 12 using the numbering given in entry NP_002826.2 (GeneID 5782).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

PTPN12 is a cytosolic protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) that contains a C-terminal PEST motif and plays an important role in cytoskeletal organization, immune cell activation, apoptosis, and embryonic development. PTPN12 appears to contribute to these cellular processes through its interaction with a variety of signaling and cytoskeletal-associated proteins. The recent discovery that PTPN12 is modulated by caspase-3 cleavage has led to the analysis of the role of PTPN12 and other PTPs as regulators of apoptosis.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
