Production Procedures

Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to PTEN immobilized on solid support.

The epitope recognized by IHC-00358 maps to a region between residue 350 and the C-terminus (residue 403) of human phosphatase and tensin homolog using the numbering given in entry NP_000305.2 (GeneID 5728).

Immunoglobulin concentration was determined using Beer’s Law where 1mg/mL IgG has an A280 of 1.4.

Additional Product Information

PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homolog) is a phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-triphosphate 3-phosphatase that has been identified as a tumor suppressor. PTEN is a dual specificity tyrosine and serine/threonine phosphatase that preferentially dephosphorylates phosphoinositide substrates and negatively regulates the AKT/PKB signaling pathway. Through its action, PTEN has been shown to modulate cell cycle progression, cell survival, cell migration, cell adhesion, and insulin signaling.

Applications

Epitope exposure is recommended.

Epitope exposure with citrate buffer will enhance staining.

Likely to work with frozen sections.

In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.
