GCN2 is a kinase that phosphorylates the alpha subunit of EIF2. GCN2 functions as a sensor of amino acid deficiency and modulates protein metabolism in response to cellular stress. GCN2 has also been reported to function in the regulation of lipid metabolism during amino acid deprivation.

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).
