Additional Product Information

Nuclear cap binding protein subunit 2 (NCBP2) is a component of the nuclear cap-binding protein complex (CBC), which binds to the monomethylated 5' cap of nascent pre-mRNA in the nucleoplasm. NCBP2 has an RNP domain commonly found in RNA binding proteins, and contains the cap-binding activity. The CBC promotes pre-mRNA splicing, 3'-end processing, RNA nuclear export, and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (GeneID: 22916)].

Alternate Names

20 kDa nuclear cap-binding protein; CBC2; CBP20; cell proliferation-inducing gene 55 protein; NCBP 20 kDa subunit; NCBP interacting protein 1; NCBP-interacting protein 1; NIP1; nuclear cap binding protein subunit 2, 20kD; nuclear cap binding protein subunit 2, 20kDa; nuclear cap-binding protein subunit 2; PIG55

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
