BRD3 (bromodomain containing 3) is a double bromo-domain containing protein. It has been shown to associate with hyperacetylated chromatin of transcribed genes. From this finding it is suggested that BRD3 plays a role in RNA polymerase II transcription through nucleosomes. A chromosomal translocation resulting in a fusion protein involving BRD3 and NUT has been associated with a rare and lethal carcinoma.
