Transcription termination factor (TTF1) is a multifunctional nucleolar protein that terminates ribosomal gene transcription, mediates replication fork arrest, and regulates RNA polymerase I transcription on chromatin. TTF1 plays a dual role in rDNA regulation, being involved in both activation and silencing of rDNA transcription. TTF1 has been shown to interact with BAZ2A/TIP5. An Interaction with BAZ2A/TIP5 recovers DNA-binding activity. [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q96RN5].
