Additional Product Information

VPS4B (vacuolar protein sorting 4 homolog B) belongs to the AAA (adenosine triphosphatases associated with diverse cellular activities) family. It is involved in the multivesicular body (MVB) pathway which is important for cell surface receptor down-regulation and viral budding from host cells. VSP4B plays a role in the disassembly of ESCRTs (endosomal sorting complexes required for transport) on the endosomal membrane during sorting of cargo molecules in the MVB pathway. The mouse paralog of VPS4B is Skd1 (suppressor of K+ transport defect1) and the yeast paralog is Vps4.

Alternate Names

cell migration-inducing 1; cell migration-inducing gene 1 protein; MIG1; Protein SKD1; SKD1; SKD1B; suppressor of K(+) transport growth defect 1; suppressor of K+ transport defect 1; vacuolar protein sorting 4B; vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 4B; VPS4-2

Applications

All western blot analysis is performed using 5% Milk-TBST for blocking and as antibody diluent. Primary antibody is incubated overnight.

Western blots of cell lysates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG Heavy and Light Chain Antibody (Cat. No. A120-101P).

Western blots of immunoprecipitates are performed using Goat anti-Rabbit Light Chain HRP Conjugate (Cat. No. A120-113P) with 5% Normal Pig Serum (Cat. No. S100-020) added to the blocking buffer.
