HdmX/MDM4 is a RING-finger domain containing protein that interacts with p53. HdmX/MDM4 may influence p53 stability through an interaction with the structurally similar MDM2, an ubiquitin-ligase that targets p53 for proteasomal degradation. HdmX/MDM4 may influence p53 by directly attenuating p53 transcriptional activity.
