VISA/MAVS Antibody

Mitochondrial Antiviral-Signaling Protein (MAVS), also known as Virus-Induced Signaling Adaptor (VISA), is an adaptor protein that functions in the activation of the nuclear factor KappaB (NF-kappaB) and interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) to mediate host innate immune responses against double-stranded RNA viral infection. MAVS (VISA) is localized to the outer mitochondrial membrane. Hepatitis C virus NS3/4A protease cleaves MAVS as part of an immune-evasion strategy.

Alternative names for VISA/MAVS Antibody include interferon-beta promoter stimulator protein 1 antibody, IPS-1 antibody, CARD adapter inducing interferon-beta antibody, Cardif antibody, putative NF-kappa-B-activating protein 031N antibody, IPS1 antibody, KIAA1271 antibody, FLJ27482 antibody, FLJ41962 antibody, DKFZp666M015 antibody.
