Sp3 Antibody

Sp3 is a transcription factor that can act as an activator or repressor depending on the isoform and/or post-translational modifications. Sp3 binds to GT- and GC- box promoter elements and competes with SP1 for the GC-box promoters. It is a weak activator of transcription but can activate a number of genes involved in different processes such as cell-cycle regulation, hormone-induction and house-keeping [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q02447].
