SSA1 Antibody

Sjoegren syndrome type A antigen (SSA) is a component of a ribonucleoprotein particle composed of a single polypeptide and one of four small RNA molecules. It is present in all mammalian cells studied but has no known function. At least two isoforms are present in nucleated and red blood cells, and tissue specific differences in RO/SSA proteins have been identified. The common feature of these proteins is their ability to bind HY RNAs. Alternative names for SSA include TRIM21, RNF81, SSA1, RO52, SSA, SS-A/Ro, Sicca syndrome antigen A, and tripartite motif protein 21.
