MAP2 Antibody

Microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) belongs to the MAP family of microtubule assembly proteins. MAP2 is expressed mainly in neurons and is important to neurogenesis. In addition to binding microtubules, MAP2 can also bind F-actin and bundle actin filaments. This function, as well as its role as an adaptor protein in PKA signaling, appears to be important to the initiation of neurite extension. As a structural MAP, MAP2 interacts with a multitude of proteins and associates with a number of protein kinases indicating its importance in linking cell signaling and cytoskeletal organization.

Alternative names for MAP2 Antibody include MAP2A antibody, MAP2B antibody, MAP2C antibody.
