IL-4 Antibody

Interleukin 4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by type 2 helper T-cells. Its receptor is a heterodimer of the IL4Ralpha and IL4Rgamma subunits. Since the IL-4Ra chain is part of the receptor complex for IL-13, the responses to IL-13 overlap and are similar to those of IL-4. Both IL-13 and IL-4 signal transduction is linked to the transcriptional activator STAT6. IL-4 stimulates differentiation of naïve helper T-cells to type 2 helper T-cells. Additionally, IL-4 stimulates activated B-cells and class switching to IgE.
