FOXC2 (forkhead box protein C2) is a member of the Forkhead transcription factor family. It is critical to the development of lymphatic vasculture. Mutations in FOXC2 are responsible for lymphedema-distichiasis, a disease characterized by the obstruction of lymphatic drainage of the limbs and extra eyelashes (distichiasis). Alternative names for FOXC2 include forkhead-related protein FKHL14, FKH-14, mesenchyme fork head protein 1, MFH-1, and LD.
