FLASH Antibody

Caspase-8-binding protein FLICE-associated huge protein (FLASH) is a component of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) that mediates CD95-induced apoptosis and caspase-8 activation. FLASH has also been identified as a component of Cajal bodies (CBs) and promyelocytic (PML) nuclear bodies. It is proposed that translocation of FLASH from nuclear bodies to caspase-rich regions of the mitochondria in response to CD95 activation provides a link between CD95 signaling, the nucleus, and the apoptotic pathway. Alternate names for FLASH include CASP8-associated protein 2, CASP8AP2, RIP25, CED-4, FLJ11208, and KIAA1315.
