DBC1/p30 DBC Antibody

The DBC1 (Deleted in Breast Cancer Gene 1 protein) gene is located in a region frequently deleted in breast cancers. In its uncleaved form, DBC1 is localized to the nucleus. Upon cleavage by caspase activity, DBC1 becomes localized to the cytoplasm and functions to promote apoptosis. DBC1 has also been found to bind directly to the estrogen receptor alpha (ERalpha) hormone binding domain to modulate ERalpha expression and mediate hormone-independent breast cancer cell survival. Alternate names for DBC1 include p30 DBC, and KIAA1967.
