CAP-H2 (chromosome-associated protein H2) is 1 of 3 non-SMC subunits that define the condensin II complex. Condensin II along with the condensin I plays a critical role in mitotic chromosome assembly and segregation. CAP-H2 is also known as condensin-2 complex subunit H2, non-SMC condensin II complex subunit H2, chromosome-associated protein H2, hCAP-H2, NCAPH2, CAPH2, and kleisin-beta.
