ATRX Antibody

 
ATRX (alpha-thalassemia mental retardation X-linked) is a chromatin remodeling protein and transacting regulator of globin gene expression that has been linked to several X-linked mental retardation syndromes and hematologic diseases such as myelodysplasia. ATRX possesses an ATPase/helicase domain and is related to the SWI/SNF family of proteins. Mutations in ATRX have been demonstrated to cause changes in DNA methylation patterns and gene expression important to development. Alternate names for ATRX include transcriptional regulator ATRX, ATP-dependent helicase ATRX, X-linked nuclear protein, X-linked helicase II, XNP, Znf-HX, RAD54L, RAD54, XH2, SHS, ATR2, SFM1, MRXS3, MRXHF1, and MGC2094.
