ACINUS/ACN1 Antibody

 
Acinus (Apoptotic Chromatin Condensation Inducer of the Nucleus) has been demonstrated to play a dual role in apoptosis and mRNA splicing. A proteolytic fragment of acinus generated by caspase cleavage appears to mediate chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation. Acinus is also part of the ASAP (apoptosis and splicing-associated protein) complex that is deposited at exon-exon junctions during RNA splicing. In this complex acinus may be involved in pre-mRNA splicing. Alternate names for acinus include ACIN1 and KIAA0670.
